In 2000 we took our holiday in Greece, and in deciding which tour to go on, we very nearly made the mistake of thinking the Acropolis and the Parthenon are the same thing. Acropolis is derived from the Greek akron for summit and polis meaning city. There are other acropoli(s?) around...

We did make it though, and despite all the repair work, the Parthenon was grand.
The temple of Athena Nike (built 5th Century) and the Erechtheio are also on the Acropolis.

For all holiday makers who stayed in Tolo, or elsewhere on the Peloponnese, did you ever drive over the Corinth Canal and not stop?
